Marché de la Bastille, Paris

Image-1

Processed with VSCOcam with hb2 presetI spent last summer in Paris with my mom and although it’s a whole new year later, I still think about the time we spent in Paris and all the regretful things I would do to eat a Pierre Hermé macaron again. One of our favourite memories from the trip is of exploring  Marché de la Bastille.
Both of us love markets (and food!) and knew that a picnic in Paris would be just the thing to get us feeling très chic . Marché de la Bastille came highly recommended. Processed with VSCOcam with a6 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with a6 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with a6 presetAt the market you’ll find the best kinds of street food and pretty much anything you’ll need for a meal – never mind an impromptu picnic. From fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, cheese and fresh flowers – this place had it all. Deciding what to eat was the only difficult decision we had to make!IMG_6817Processed with VSCOcam with a5 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with a6 presetHere, we had hunted down the best churros in Europe (and we had just traveled from Spain!). A charismatic Parisian man – who sold and fried up the churros – voluntarily spoke to us in French as if we understood every word. Not only were the churros reasonably priced (6 for 2 euros and 3 for 1 euro) but this guy knew his stuff. If a batch of churros sat for longer than 1 minute after being deep fried – he wouldn’t serve them. Allowing every deep-fried piece of heaven to be eaten just as they’re meant to be: warm and crispy.IMG_6815FullSizeRender (3)
